This place is AWESOME. They just opened a few months ago, and haven't done much marketing / advertising in the area.. so I think the main reason it's usually semi empty is because people just don't know it's there.

The owner is such a great guy, really committed to the quality of the food and devoted to making every patron's experience great. Involves his whole family in the business - if you're lucky enough, you might get to meet a few of his kids!

The atmosphere is great.. kind of a mix of anything you might be looking for. Plenty of bar seating (multiple bars, though depending on the volume of patrons sometimes only one is open), multiple high top seating tables in the bar serviced by the barista, many regular tables, and a back room/area that can be used for large parties or rented out for private events/gatherings.

Bathrooms are spotless, and interestingly kind of an upscale trough style - the stalls are all individual, but then the sink spans both women and men. Mirrors still give that feeling of privacy, however.

Now, on to the drinks. We ordered skinny margaritas and a blueberry mojito.. which were freakin' awesome. Probably in the top 3 margaritas/mojitos I've ever had. They made my skinny margarita spicy on request, as it was excellent. One of the baristas also came by our table after seeing the first version of the mojito we received, and immediately took it back to the bar and remade it. How awesome of service is that?! AND the prices were very reasonable, even though it wasn't happy hour!

They're also open for breakfast/brunch with many inexpensive mimosa and bloody mary drink options.. seriously, such a hidden gem.

The owner actually sent over two appetizers for us to try on the house.. and they were TO DIE FOR. Let me tell you, Ive eaten at a lot of Mexican places in my lifetime, as done a lot of reviews on here.. if I had to pick ONE dish as my last one on this earth, I'd choose the shrimp and avocado bruschetta. It was absolutely delicious, so much so that I found myself picking every last bit of shrimp out of the leftover tails. The corn fritters were also incredible - could double as a dessert if paired with heavy whipping cream or something. We also ordered some chicken nachos on our own, and they were some of the best nachos I've ever had. No "fake" cheese, so all the real cheese melted and gave that perfect crispy crunch taste on each chip. They were also layered well, so you never really ended up with a plain chip.

Only suggestion would be to increase the size of the complimentary salsa. They do provide extra ones if you want them once you've finished your first one, but it's so good everyone always ends up wanting more, and they give way more chips compared to the size of the salsa.

They also got approved to have tables and chairs outside in the warmer months, so it would be a great place to sit outside with your dog or your SO and have a margarita and appetizer. Or, if you wan to come with your dog and have brunch with a few mimosas outside on a beautiful spring or summer day. They're also working on starting a tequila club, similar to the concept of gin bars downtown where you pay a small monthly fee to have unlimited access to your personal bottle of tequila in a special tasting room whenever you come, and a discount on your bill when you dine there. Even if you don't want to participate in the club itself, but are a tequila person, this is the place to go - he has SO many selections of awesome tequila from around the world, for any budgetary range (from $2.50 a shot to $250 per bottle to even $250 per shot for the rare ones).

TLDR - my new favorite Mexican place to eat in the Fells/Canton area, expansive menu with many options for gluten free/gluten friendly individuals, vegetarian/vegans, and those just wanting to watch their caloric intake a little bit mor. Cannot wait to return!!

Came here on a Saturday night with a group of friends. One my friends put it best - this is the kind of place you come to hang out with friends for their good drinks, and eat the food because it's there.

Location/Parking:
Located right near Union Wharf apartments, just a tad removed from the waterfront Fells Point area. Parking can be pretty difficult in the area. We took Ubers because we planned to have some drinks.

Food/Drink/Vegetarian options:
The drinks are where this place shines! The have a great margarita! I also had the paloma which tasted fresh. The chips/salsa are plentiful and standard. Most of my friends got chimichangas (chicken or steak) which they felt were average. I got the veggie burrito which was crappy - they basically took a frozen mixed vegetable packet, steamed it, and threw on some cheese. The veggies were broccoli, carrots, and zucchini. I thought broccoli was a little odd for a mexican burrito. All of our meals were served with rice and refried beans. The rice had no flavor and the beans were also very bland. The sour cream was very salty. We asked for hot sauce which was awesome - super spicy and perfect to add flavor to our otherwise boring meals.

Service:
Drinks took a long time to arrive, which was a little annoying. Our server also attempted to take away several plates and drinks that still had food or drink in them. It was a little odd. He was attentive though.

Mexican-cantina style.

I hope this place stays around for a while. It sits in the space of the old Modern Cookshop. But the new owners added a few things to make it seem more homey and even more beautiful. The bar is slightly separated from the restaurant which makes this place able to transition from brunch to dinner to post-dinner drinks.

The new owners are super sweet. And everyone who works there is pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. They also have a bunch of gluten free options (including a chocolate mousse for dessert).

The salsa was great, so I knew I was in for a good meal already. The chicken tamale appetizer was amazing- and it's a generous portion for its slight price tag. The tacos were outstanding. I had the mahi mahi (they had a choice of three types of fish), steak, and shrimp. The fajitas were tasty- huge portion.

And the margaritas were on point. I'll be back a bunch. You won't be disappointed.

Went there on a Monday night for a drink and small bite. Sat by at the bar, the bartender was very friendly and attentive.

The House magarita for 10$ was very delicious. We ordered the guacamole that's was very tasty, maybe the best I ever had. Ordered chicken tacos and shrimp tacos which were good not great, the tortilla got soggy and fell apart pretty quickly.

The bathroom is very unique, open style concept the stalls are unisex and the sinks and mirrors are in the middle for everyone to use.

The vibe in there is great though, very clean cut and upscale, a lot of thought went into creating it. I will be going back to try more drinks and menu items. This place is new and I'm sure it will pick up very quickly once more people find out about it!

I was pretty impressed with this place, just a week after opening! I always give a new restaurant a grain of salt but this place didn't need much!

I loved the menu - lots of options and the tacos kept my eye as I walked to our table. The set up is pretty much the same as Modern Cook Shop but with a South American flare! Love the open concept and fun decor. Our server was very attentive and helpful.

We ordered the ceviche, corn tamale bites and split some tacos (unsure of portion size, my bf and I kept a menu). We didn't need it! The ceviche was huge with full size shrimp and chips to scoop up. We ordered some tacos as well (shrimp and chicken) and loved them all. Chipotle shrimp all the way next time! The corn tamale bites were just too good, even if the sauce was mayo based and "mystery" lol. While the food was well plated, big portions and appropriate prices, I prefer a bit more spice. Some house made hot sauce on the tables or jalapeños, etc.

I'll be back to try the fajitas and other appetizers! Can't waist!
